Watercolors! What could be more fun?!?

Today seemed like the perfect day for some water coloring! I was right! It WAS the perfect day! This painting only took her about an hour. If you look closely you will see sooo many different things. I will help you to see them. There is a blue dolphin, lots of fireworks in all different colors, an airplane, fish, circles and so much more. As I was sitting on the floor for almost an hour I thought... man, it is a good thing that I like watercolors too! So of course there are a few of my little bits of art in there too. Under the strict supervision of Marley I was told to make a pair of scissors, a tree, a purple tree and a daddy with a green hat. This lovely piece of work now lives on the refrigerator along with all of the other great works of art that have been created in our home. It makes me happy every time I walk into the kitchen and remember how carefully she picked each and every color to use and how much thought she put into making each and every little line. Wonderful!

Something everyone should know how to do...

is hem pants! Not just hem them, but hem them without making them look really dorky. We have probably all seen the pants that were hemmed by just chopping off the excess length and then being left all nerdy looking with no original factory finish. It just isn't a pretty thing. Well... No longer will you be a nerd if you read this! Not to be terribly mean, but this is a post somewhat dedicated to my mother. She means well when hemming pants, but lets face it... the finished product just isn't the greatest. Sorry Ma! Okay... off you go now! There is no excuse for pants being way too long anymore!

You will be sent one craft project a week in an email complete with pictures and detailed instructions. Click on the picture and type your email. That is all it takes and you won't be disappointed!

Martha... Martha... Martha...

I know a lot of people don't necessarily "love" Martha Stewart, but come on... she is one crafty lady. Seems a little anal at times, but I suppose we all can be. I was searching through her valentine crafts and ran across this little craft here. I know that a lot of people made these in elementary school, but I guess I was deprived of the thrill of this craft because I have NEVER made these! After my two year old and I rummaged through her crayon box for all of our favorite colors (her favorite coloring being purple), we started peeling off the paper. Oh yeah, and since when did it become so hard to get the paper off of crayons? Crazy! Anyway... we ran them through a pencil sharpener and melted them in between wax paper and voila! I cut them out and hung them in the window and who knows if I will even take them down after Valentines day is over! Now I KNOW these don't exactly look like Martha's, but Martha probably didn't have a two year old picking out the colors and helping her do all of the other steps. These also aren't the greatest pictures, but I have waited for a sunny day for about a week now and it just doesn't seem to be happening any time soon.
